The Khmer coast and islands

This gateway in the clouds thrived until the mid 1970 when the destructive Khmer rouges came along. After their surrender and despite a wild deforestation operated by the army, Bokor is still a proud mountain where nature remains enchantress and wild : the plateau is a sanctuary for wild fauna and flora. It is now dedicated to really become a national park.

My comments

Don’t miss to relax along the Khmer coast at the end of your trip in Cambodia, far from the beaten track. The Cambodian coast is however submitted to south east monsoon and therefore is not to be considered during this season.

The fishermen that we will meet on some islands are not yet accustomed to tourists and we will therefore behave respectfully (see our chapter « Recommendations » – Customs).
