As a guide, the daily experience led me to suggest
to you some practical information and
recommendations.
Before the departure
Good health during a travel depends on some
precautions :
- Visit your doctor for advice about travel in the
tropics. Although for Cambodia, no vacinations is
formally required to enter the country, some are
recommended. Your doctor will help you to protect
yourself (against Tetanus, Hepatitis A/B, Typhoïd,
Polio, Rage,…).
- Visit also your dentist to control your teeth.
Nothing better than a toothache is able to spoil a
trip.
- If you are under medical treatment, bring with you
a prescription written in English (or in French)
with the name of the constituents instead of the
name of the medicine. Doctors, pharmacists and
hospitals are skilled in Cambodia but difficulties
of communication could get difficult consultations.
I recommend to you to copy every important documents
that you take with you : passport, credit cards,
plane tickets, travellers cheques and to keep them
separate from the originals. Thus, you will be able
to replace them in case of loss or robbery.
