Luggage
Wear appropriate clothing for the climate. Light
weight, loose fitting, cotton clothing is best
suited is best suited all over the year. Something
warmer might be required in the mountains during the
cold season or to support air-conditioning in some
restaurants.
A tie is to be worn only in official circumstances.
In any case, bring very comfortable trekking shoes
and one light protection against rain could also be
welcome as well as a hat against the sun.
A small rucksack will also be very useful to bring
some snacks and drinks during a journey.
When you carry money in public, always be sure it is
in a discreet place and difficult for pickpockets to
access.
For eyeglass wearers, an extra pair of glasses
should be taken.
Good quality sunglass will also be useful because
the light is very strong in Cambodia.
Packan appropriate number of rolls of your favourite
TP in your suitcase and always remember to take
along some of it whenever you go out. They are
missing far from the beaten track but also in the
public toilets !
If you are trekking for several days off the beaten
track, I recommend you to take with you a rucksack
with :
- A mosquito netting
- A « meat-sack » (a silk
sleeping bag)
- water disinfectant tablets
- an efficient torch (by
preference a cap lamp)
Last but not least never forget that you will find
in my country a lot of interesting things
(tee-shirts, long-sleeved shirts, long trousers,…)
to purchase at a very competitive price.
