Precautions on the spot

Heat

In Cambodia, the heat is generally tolerable and has nothing to do with Amazonian hygrometry. I recommend in any case you to adapt your life and visit rhythm to climate and to adopt the local customs. A nap is highly recommended during peak tanning hours (10 am to 2 pm)… We will organise ourselves in accordance.

Mosquitoes and Malaria

It is useless to take an anti-malarial medication if you are not trekking off the beaten track, in the mountains or in the jungle. In this case, you will have to take pills like Nivaquine or Lariam starting before departure In any case, consult your doctor for advice.

But never forget that taking an anti-malarial medication lowers the chances of getting sick, but doesn’t protect you completely. So, remember to use a good DEET-based bug spray when you go out, especially at the sunset and at night.

Mosquitoes are most active during dusk and dawn and in shaded areas. Wear long-sleeved shirts (tucked in), long pants, and apply a permethrin containing repellent to clothing.
